There was a parade of beautiful ensembles at the 80th Golden Globe Awards. Although the show itself was criticized for a lack of entertaining content, the clothes did spark applause and accolades.
The Golden Globes, which experienced backlash for its judging practices, was absent for two years and now came back in 2023. As Vanessa Friedman wrote in the New York Times, with its disappearance “went the first major red capret of the phenomenon otherwise known as the Extended Awards Season Fashion Show.”
So well put. We love sharing floral fashions with you and on our Instagram, please vote on your favorites.
Rhea Seehorn was classic fabulous with bright beaded flowers from Naeem Khan. Jamie Lee curtis also was classicaly chic in her Valentino lace cape.
We also want to give a shout-out to Lauren Rogan, the wife of actor Seth Rogan who wore a salmon colored tux also by Dior. Salmon is definitely a trending color. Rogan’s dress was pitch perfect. Modern and elegmt. It definitely wins the award for a dress you can wear frequenty at both a black tie and out for dinner. Julia Garner’s dress was so romantic and reminded you of lovely tulips flowing in the wind with the trim of her chiffon dress.
Among the flower trends that popped up in this celebrity gathering was the use of one large silky big flower. Men frequently used it on their lapels as a big pin-like accessory. Both Eddie Redmayne wore one as did Ciego Dalva. In other years, flower motifs were seen as part of the velvet tux jackets in a rainbow of colors. This year was definitely the year of the one big flower. Jenny Slate’s dreamy green silk dress with its one large rose that served as a necklace and design motif was from Rodarte, a design house that loves flowers like we do.
When asked what made her choose this dress, she told reporters that she wanted to look “like a woman who’s about to turn into a magical plant.” Well, let’s hope that the seed is planted for more fab floral fashions for 2023.
