Fernando Wong and Martha Stewart Judges on Discovery’s “Clipped”

Are many of you thinking about their outdoor gardens?  I know we are. Discovery+ is launching “Clipped” today via streaming with host Michael Urie, and judges including Martha Stewart, Fernando Wong and Chris Lambton.

We are big fans of Fernando Wong, who truly is like Edward Scissorhands, creating breathtaking sculptures and gardening designs.  He was also one of our judges for aspire design and home’s “Best-Dressed Rooms in TV and Film Awards.

Fernando, whose partner Tim Johnson expertly handles the business, has been called “one of the most influential landscape designers in America” by Elle Decor, “a genius with the soul of a poet” by Garden Design Magazine, a “landscape legend” by Forbes and “the creative mind behind Miami’s lushest landscapes” by Architectural Digest.

Here at flowerpowerdaily. and aspire design and home magazine, we say, “the Panama-born landscape artist is the Camille Pisarro of plants and trees who like the impressionist painter doesn’t treat trees as cookie-cutter sticks in a garden but as live sculptures that have personalities. Fernando Wong understands that these majestic entities require a precise friend group of certain flora and plants to truly blossom and create a fun, eye-pleasing party.”

Here is some of his work to explain why he is the hot landscape architect right now – especially in Florida and New York.

And guess what? Among the seven competitors are Juan Villanueva, one of our florists of the week? Others include Mike “Gibby Six” Gibson, Edward “Cowboy” Pequignot, Meghan Petricka, Jade Rojas, Marie Danielle Vil-Young and Ryan Zoeller.

“We’ve selected the best and brightest event designers, botanical designers and artists from around the country to wow fans in the ultimate topiary showdown,” said Bob Kirsh, vice president, programming and development, HGTV. “It’s remarkable to watch talented people transform plants and flowers with this incredibly creative art form.”

I will be reviewing the show for tomorrow but until then, check it out if you want something fun to do today. More later. Petal On.
