Although there was not a garden of fashion delights at the recent 28th annual 2022 SAG (Screen Actors Guild Awards) compared to other shows, with fashions being very monochrome in bold colors, there were still some stand-outs worth mentioning and celebrating.
Sophie Hunter, the talented director wife of Benedict Cumberbatch, looked so regal and lovely in her gold-hued Christian Dior dress with subtle peekabo elements that were class vs. crass. So elegant but also interesting since the lace dress had a hint of celery lime coloring that made it utterly modern.
Who couldn’t love the gorge floral pantsuit of Yellowstone’s Jenny Landon. She plays Teeter on the hit series and truly was a star in this outfit. Smart choice because after spending a lifetime covering the entertainment business, I know how important it is to make a fashion statement that becomes memorable at these award shows since stars, like most of us, are also sitting at home in their cozy sweatpants and t-shirts.
Jennifer Hudson always has a diva look but it is done with a fun vibe that is both charming and approachable. The flowing pink one-shoulder dress had floral embellishments that were just lovely and upped the look to give it more drama.
Meanwhile, Helen Mirren, the beloved actress, is showing us all how to age young but still be appropriate. No boobs spilling all over in a frontal assault. Instead, she was in a tasteful Dolce & Gabanna pink floral dress to accept her Lifetime Achievement Award. Sweet how her headband matched her dress as well as her clutch bag. Though not so sure about that sleeve and how it falls on her shoulder. But Mirren still was radiant and guess I’m used to Dolce & Gabanna having very tailored gorge florals.
We also want to give a shout-out to Daveed Diggs for his Versace floral-inspired suit. We couldn’t be happier that men are also enjoying wearing floral prints in darker colors since as we say at flowerpowerdaily, wearing flowers makes you happy.
