Flowers were blooming at the 74th annual Emmy Awards where a sea of pink and Hollywood glam inspired designs dominated the festivities. Each year has different trends but this one was a garden of delights. There was so much to choose from but here are what our judges declared winners and why.
1) Julia Garner, who won an award for her performance in “Ozark” was also a winner for her velvet Gucci dress which had a strategic but innovative diamond cut-out making her belly button an interesting accessory. Somehow this ensemble was classic but modern.
2)Kerry Washington wore an asymmetrical white Elie Saab couture minidress with floral appliques though not sure why she paired it with black tighter. But the trend was short with long trains and the dress was pretty
3)Sydney Sweeney’s Oscar de la Renta dress was just breathtaking. Silver fabric embossed with black flowers.
Ariana DeBose was a charmer in a Prabal Gurung dress in a lovely lavender that flowed sensually and had a rose flower pulling it all together.
Bowen Yang from “Saturday Night Live” had a stylish floral silk jacquard suit jacket that used flowers subtly but effectively.
Hannah Waddingham from “Ted Lasso” was part of the pink trend wearing a tulle princess dress adorned with small floral detailing on the bustier.
Kaley Cuoco also charmed in pink with her Dolce & Gabbana dress bursting with varying shades of pillowy pink and raspberry-hued flowers. The mini dress also had a pink train which trended with others as well. “The Big Bang” actress also won last year and we love her fashion floral vibe.
Kerry Washington wore an asymmetrical white Elie Saab couture minidress with floral appliques though not sure why she paired it with black tighter. But the trend was short with long trains and the dress was pretty.
Rachel Brosnahan wore a violet low-cut -a little too low cut – Pamela Roland dress that had lovely detailing to match the unique color.
Not sure what designer Stephen Colbert’s wife Eve McGee-Colbert wore but her floral dress hit so many right notes. Tasteful, elegant with a swoosh of whimsy with the asymmetrical shoulder covering. Colbert may have not won an Emmy but he took home the prize by marrying a brainy babe with style.
Hoyeon Jung from the Squid Game also gets a special shout-out for her floral hairpin atop her bangs that complemented her Louis Vuitton geometric dress proving that even one flower can enchant if positioned strategically.
