Macy’s 48th annual Flower Show® featuring @FIT students’ creations and thousands of flower arrangements and installations scattered throughout the store takes place until Monday, April 10th.
We love the sustainable focus as well that after the show plants and flowers will be donated to Henry Street Settlement.
Plus there are all types of classes for floral fun so check out the website. Highlights include masterclasses with @DIOR fragrance experts.
The DIOR installation is located on the balcony level. Visitors will have a journey through the “regenerative flower fields in Southern France” with content opportunities and personalization stations including engraving bottles, charms, and hand-painted fragrance bottles.
As someone wisely said, fragrance is a flower’s feelings.
“This year’s Macy’s Flower Show will transport guests to the garden of their dreams. Imaginative floral designs and divine scents will come together and create an indescribable multi-sensory experience,” said Will Coss, executive producer, Macy’s Flower Show.
“Escaping reality, this year’s spectacle leverages gravity-defying and oversized elements to highlight the importance of dreams and embracing child-like wonder. In partnership with DIOR, a special showcase within this floral dreamscape will further ignite the senses with the scents of their iconic fragrances welcoming spectators during the magical two-week exhibition.”
Unlike last year when Fashion Institute of Technology students created fashions with flowers on mannequins -which we miss – this year they did get tasked with designing outside windows. Still a lot of fun and colorful.
Those of you in New York should definitely check out during store hours. Also, Macy’s will be closed for Easter so plan around that date to see flowers in bloom and this festive kick-off to spring.
