HBO Max Announces “Sex and the City” Series Coming Soon

“And Just Like That” – HBO’s Sex and the City reboot has been confirmed.

Star Sarah Jessica Parker, who played Carrie Bradshaw, said, “I couldn’t help but wonder where are they now?” Excited to see what they will wear since it was a show – and well as spin-off movies -that celebrated not only friendship but fab fashions.

Are you hoping for many floral fashions? There were countless floral motifs in dresses, shoes – Manolos of course – as well as handbags. 

Elana Fishman, a fashion reporter from the New York Post, looks forward to some of the iconic floral flourishes in the new show.

“It’s a testament to Carrie’s sartorial savvy that she was able to make giant floral brooches look cool and not clownish; sadly, some of us who tried the copy the look weren’t quite as lucky,” she says. “We’d be shocked if a giant bloom or two didn’t pop up in the reboot.”

If you are wondering who will be in this new reboot, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will be part of the fun but the character of Samantha portrayed by Kim Cattrall will not be part of the mix.

Do you think the show can survive without Kim Cattrall? I’m not sure. Many of our Instagram fans were suspect. 

Although the show, written by Michael Patrick King used to say that New York City was a key character, Cattrall’s Samantha added spice, sass, and an unapologetic feminist sensuality that was singularly unique.

Parker has acknowledged that Samantha’s character will “be missed” but claims there are other stories to tell.

“Sex and the City” was a popular series that aired from 1998 to 2004. Created by Darren Star – who also just produced “Emily in Paris” – it was based on the book by Candace Bushnell of the same name. Two movies were subsequently made as well. “Sex and the City” in 2008 and “Sex and the City 2” in 2010. A prequel series starring AnnaSophia Robb, “The Carrie Diaries,” also premiered on the CW in 2013.

No exact date when the series will air but rumor has it that each star will get $1 million per episode of the ten-episode deal. Shooting starts in late spring. Perfect time for floral fashions.
