Quotes where Flowers Implore Us to Chill and Learn

Spread the love

By Jill Brooke

I’ve been asked recently to write some of the quotes I share with my readers as well as others that I find inspiring.

Even before there was a printing press, monks would put flowers on their prayer books to connect to both beauty and wisdom.

I am starting out these quotes with one from Pope Francis that always roots me to the essence of life and is truly one of my favorites.

If we open our eyes and really “see” flowers as the artist Georgia O’Keefe implored, we can absorb and enjoy all the lessons these beautiful entities teach.

Furthermore, as we all are experiencing, nature has pressed the pause button. The natural world teaches us that we are not masters but guests. Hopefully, this time will also refocus our priorities and perspectives and we will not only smell the roses but take the time to understand them.

“Rivers do not drink their own water; trees do not eat their own fruit; the sun does not shine on itself and flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. Life is good when you are happy – but much better when others are happy because of you.” Pope Francis

“Even Rainbows Know the Sky is the Limit. Be Both the Pragmatist and Dreamer” – Jill Brooke

“Why do people covet the difficult flowers when cheerful marigolds deliver beauty and long-lasting pleasure?  Have a love affair with the prickly rose if you must, but marry your marigold.” Jill Brooke

“Even after they are stepped and trampled on, flowers grow back. Trust your inner beauty and resilience.” Jill Brooke

“A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”– Zen Shin

“If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.” Marcus Tullius Cicero

“The flower which is single need not envy the thorns that are numerous.” – Rabindranath Tagore

“Don’t judge me from my past. I don’t reside there anymore. I’m planting new flowers.”  Jill Brooke

“Flowers grow when they are ready. They are never in a rush.”  Anonymous

“Don’t tiptoe through life or the rose garden. Run enthusiastically. There may be thorns but worth the journey to find that sweet-smelling rose.” Jill Brooke

Every month we will share our other favorite quotes and be sure to share some of yours with info@flowerpowerdaily.com
